Dreams That Follow You Into the Day

Friday night, while staying in the cabins on Jefferson Island, I had a dream that left me wondering.

In the dream, an elephant came through the trees and began to charge toward me… then suddenly slowed and calmly walked past. Moments later, a bear appeared from another direction — it charged, then paused, and walked on. Finally, a wolf came forward, did the same — a moment of power, then peaceful retreat.

It felt so vivid that I wrote it down in my journal the next morning before starting the day.

Later that same day, while visiting the Rip Van Winkle Gardens, I stopped in my tracks — there before me were displays of bones and images of a mammoth, a mastodon, a black bear, and large wolves that once lived on this very land.

I don’t believe in coincidences. Dreams often hold…
